Is breakfast a priority for you?

New research has unveiled that over half of Australians skip breakfast, mostly due to time limitations, which is highly concerning given that skipping breakfast is associated with weight gain and increased risk of chronic disease, not to mention the lack of energy and reduced ability to concentrate.

However what is also concerning is that Australians may be prioritising checking their Facebook and Twitter accounts over sitting down to a bowl of muesli, with a recent study showing that social media was the chosen morning activity among breakfast skippers.

So take 5 minutes in the morning for a real feed to set yourself up for the day with a bowl full of nutrients that will leave you in a better mood, with more energy and concentration for the day, than if you skipped it for a news feed instead.
