Nuts about nuts?

So what is so fantastic about nuts that it has now become a lunchbox essential along with the tub of yoghurt and a piece of fruit? A small handful of natural nuts are a great mid meal snack to prevent both cravings and energy slumps, whilst giving a boost to our health.

Nuts are high in fibre, good quality fats and protein which all help balance blood sugar levels and promote appetite satisfaction. They achieve this by slowing down digestion, thus keeping you satisfied for longer.

The unsaturated fats are good for your heart, the protein is important for your muscles, and the fibre keeps your bowels regular. If that wasn’t enough they also provide a good source of iron, zinc, magnesium, vitamin E and B vitamins.
