Passionfruit is in season in Victoria, so it’s time to slice one open, scoop out that sweet and tarty pulp and enjoy!
Passionfruit comes from the plant genus Passiflora, native to subtropical regions of South America and grows on vines. The outer layer is inedible, and whilst the inside pulp is super low in calories it is rich in antioxidants and fibre.
This tasty fruit ripens in time for the cold months ahead providing nearly 50% of our daily requirement for Vitamin C and A, which are both powerful immune system boosters.
You can use the pulp to sweeten any dessert, or top your yoghurt for a healthy snack.
