VIS Nutrition Tip# – 13 Food Revolution Day



May 16th is Food Revolution Day, a day to celebrate food and cooking! Whether you are a kid or a grown up, everyone is being asked to get together in the kitchen on this day and spread the love for home cooking.

The idea comes from a growing concern that kids and even adults are beginning to dissociate from real food and cooking, consuming more foods prepared and packaged far from the home kitchen. This growing trend is resulting in poor food knowledge and health. So pick some herbs from the garden, pull some fruit off a tree and bake something up.

As Jamie Oliver says “It’s time to take action! We need every child to understand where food comes from, how to cook it, and how it affects their body.
