Recreation Stream

Athlete progressions are decided within the coaching team.

The Head Coach and Swim School Coordinators oversee the Recreation Stream.

DOLPHIN SQUAD

Purpose:

The Dolphin Squad provides a transition between our learn to swim lessons and squad practice. Swimmers are generally aged between 10 and 12 years and complete a minimum of 1 session and up to 3 sessions per week. Intra-club and specific junior competitions are available for Dolphin squad swimmers that choose to become Club members.

Pathway:

Swimmers can move into the competitive stream based on the Coaches recommendations

Athlete progression will be decided by the Head Coach and the relevant coaches within the coaching team.

ARMSTRONG SQUAD

Purpose:

The Armstrong Squad assists swimmers to develop technique and maintain general fitness levels.
Armstrong squad swimmers range in age from 12 upwards.
There are 3 or 4 sessions per week available to Armstrong squad swimmers depending on location, with most swimmers attending 2 or 3 sessions per week.
Opportunities to compete at Club meets and district competitions are also available provided that athletes become Nunawading Club members.
