Satellite Programs Grow from Strength to Strength

Nunawading Swimming Club has taken a giant step forward in recent months with the successful establishment of two Satellite programs in the local area.

Satellite swimming programs have been established at the Tintern Girls Grammar swimming pool in Ringwood East and Wesley College swimming pool in High Street Road, Glen Waverley.

The programs provide novice, junior and age group swimmers in the Maroondah and Monash Council areas with the opportunity to belong to one of Australia’s strongest clubs.

The new programs, aimed at children aged 7 years to 14 years who can swim at a reasonable level and would like to develop their competition skills, have seen a steady influx of new swimmers in recent weeks. Nunawading Junior Head Coach Nick Hibbins said that he was excited with the progress the Centres have made in such a short time.“Both Tintern and Wesley Satellite programs have grown in recent weeks and the quality of new young swimmers who have joined the squads have been excellent” according to Hibbins.

“We have seen a number of young children around the Ringwood area join the program at Tintern and this is providing them with a terrific introduction to competitive swimming as well as the opportunity to train in a structured program”.

“The program at Wesley has also started successfully with strong enrolments from children living in the local Glen Waverley and Mount Waverley areas.”

Both programs also offer learn to swim and water safety lessons through the Club’s Just Swimming Swim Schools.
