2017 US Open

Nunawading athletes Kaz Boskovic and Bowen Gough travelled to the USA last week to compete in the 2017 US Open. The meet was held in New York and ran from Wednesday 2nd – Sunday 6th August.

The boys had a fantastic meet gaining some valuable racing experience against some of the USA’s top swimmers.
Bowen won the bronze medal in the mens 200 Butterfly in a personal best time of 1:59.15 in an extremely close race where the 8th placed swimmer swam 1:59.39. Bowen swam out of Lane 8 in the final after swimming 2:00.20 in the heats, making the final by 0.01sec.
Kaz also had a great meet making multiple finals and swimming consistent times during the meet.

200 fly – 1:59.15 (3rd)
